NO PAIN, NO WORRIES!
Even our most anxious patients have been won over by our successful blend of compassionate skills and specific training of all staff. Taking the time to understand our patients' concerns and giving them a sense of control allows us to transform dental dread into a happy, healthy, pain-free future for many of our patients.

YOU'RE ALWAYS IN CONTROL
The first step is always the hardest: making the initial phone call and crossing the threshold. However, once you have done this, you will find a warm and supportive welcome from us all. If you prefer, you can just sit and discuss your concerns; you set the pace at every stage. If it would help, this can be done with a nurse as a complimentary consultation in a non-clinical environment.
Once you feel that we fully understand your worries and can really help you, you may feel happy to take another step which can be as simple as returning for oral health advice, or to have a single confidence-building treatment such as having your teeth polished or a simple sealant filling.
THE ‘MAGIC’ WAND
COMPUTERISED ANAESTHETIC DELIVERY SYSTEM
Our Practice is committed to providing you with the latest and best advances in dentistry. This is why we now offer anaesthesia with The Wand. This means that every time we numb you up it will be a pleasant experience. The Wand uses a small hand piece that looks like a pen. This system gives a supply of anaesthetic in a slow comfortable manner. The Wand uses a unique new computerized technology. It works at a low pressure and a slow rate that gives an improved anaesthesia. It works more effectively, resulting in a better experience, often without the numb lip - you will be pleasantly surprised!
TREATMENT WITH SEDATION
If you don't want to be aware of procedures we are able to offer expert sedation using Consultant Anaesthetists from 3H Medical Limited.
Safe sedation can be offered for any of our dental treatments. It is a technique that reduces anxiety and minimises any discomfort during your dental treatment. It is not like a General Anaesthetic – you will remain conscious, although you may fall asleep as you become more relaxed. A small plastic cannula is put in the back of your hand and two medicines are administered for the sedation. This combination of medicines gives good control of the level of sedation.
You are are encouraged to drink and eat a light meal before your appointment. You should also be aware that you will feel a little sleepy afterwards and you should not drive, or make any important decisions, until the following day.
SCARED OF NEEDLES?
You anxiety can be relieved in a number of ways, including a mild sedative tablet taken beforehand, or a local anaesthetic cream on the back of the hand.
ARE THERE ANY RISKS?
This method of sedation is designed to be a very safe procedure. Should your sedation become deeper than necessary, the Consultant Anaesthetist can quickly and easily reverse the sedative medicine.
ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS?
At Titchfield Dental Health we are committed to helping even the most nervous patients deal with their anxiety and access good dental care. If you have any questions about sedation, then please ask us and we will be happy to explain everything in detail.
